Week 12 Agenda and Learning Goals

Monday:

ELA: Students will be able to demonstrate mastery of their vocabulary words by taking their vocabulary test.

SS: Students will be able to review information from Chapter 2 for their test on 10/27.

Homework: Study for SS Chapter 2 test. Complete at least one article for A3k by Sunday 11/1.

Tuesday:

ELA: Students will be able to define new vocabulary words for the week.  Students will be able to analyze story elements from Maniac Magee.

SS: Students will be able to demonstrate mastery of information learned in Chapter 2 about People and Places by taking their chapter test.

Homework: Finish ELA flash cards and study.  Complete ELA vocabulary sentences. Complete at least one article for A3k by Sunday 11/1.

Wednesday:

ELA: Students will be able to define various figures of speech, and give examples of simile in Maniac Magee.

SS: Students will be able to preview what they will learn in the chapter “Learning About the Past.”  SWBAT define and visually represent vocabulary words from Chapter 3, Lesson 1 (prehistory, fossil, artifact, oral tradition, primary source, secondary source).

Homework: Finish unfinished class work. Study ELA vocabulary flash cards for test on Tuesday 11/3. Complete at least one article for A3k by Sunday 11/1.

Thursday:

ELA: Students will be able to give examples of simile in Maniac Magee.

SS: Students will be able to create a primary source out of an oral tradition.

Homework: Finish unfinished class work. Study ELA vocabulary flash cards for test on Tuesday 11/3. Complete at least one article for A3k by Sunday 11/1.

Friday:

ELA: Students will be able to give examples of simile in Maniac Magee.

SS: Students will be able to read a text and summarize the main points using a GIST template.

Homework: Finish unfinished class work. Study ELA vocabulary flash cards for test on Tuesday 11/3. Complete at least one article for A3k by Sunday 11/1.
